Introduction

We do not ask for your real name, email address, phone number, or any traditional user account information.

FEAT is designed to work without collecting directly identifying personal information from its users. We do not create a nominative account, we do not build a personal profile about you, and we do not use your data for direct marketing.

Some limited technical information may nevertheless be processed automatically so that the app can function correctly, display ads through third-party services, and interact with Spotify playback features where applicable. This Privacy Policy explains those operations transparently.

By using FEAT, you acknowledge the practices described below.

Our Privacy Approach

The app may still rely on certain technical identifiers or third-party SDKs strictly necessary for gameplay, advertising, or music playback.

Data Processed by the App

Data we do not intentionally collect from you

FEAT does not ask you to provide:

—Your real name
—Your email address
—Your postal address
—Your phone number
—Your date of birth
—Any government-issued identifier

Limited technical data used for app operation

Although FEAT does not create a personal user account, the app uses certain limited technical elements to operate.

Anonymous authentication

We use Firebase to handle anonymous authentication. The associated technical processing is operated by Firebase in accordance with their own privacy policy.

User tier

The app may associate a technical "free" or "premium" status with that anonymous identifier in order to unlock or restrict certain app features.

Local app preferences

The only data stored persistently on your device is: the interface language (French or English), your subscription status (free or premium), and a flag confirming that the introduction tutorial has been displayed. This data remains on your device until you uninstall the app or clear its data. Player names entered before a game and artists selected during play are never written to disk — they are loaded into memory only for the duration of the session and disappear automatically when the game ends.

Gameplay request data

During use of the game, the app may send technical gameplay-related requests to the backend, such as artist IDs, searched artist names, or selected genre, solely in order to validate game logic and provide the expected service.

Third-Party Services

FEAT uses the following third-party services.

Firebase Authentication (Google)

Used only for anonymous authentication and technical session consistency. Firebase states that anonymous authentication creates temporary anonymous accounts that allow an app to function without requiring a standard sign-up flow.

Google AdMob

Used to display ads in the FEAT app. Google may process advertising-related technical data such as advertising identifiers, device information, approximate location, ad impressions, and ad interactions, according to its own systems and policies.

Spotify

Used only for music playback control through Spotify App Remote. Based on Spotify's official documentation, it does not by itself grant broad access to private playlists, listening history, or full profile data.

Vercel

Used to host the FEAT backend infrastructure. Standard server-side technical logs may be generated for operational and security purposes, in accordance with the hosting provider's own policies.

How Data Is Used

Any limited technical data processed in connection with FEAT is used only to:

—Operate the app and maintain session continuity
—Enable anonymous technical identification without requiring a personal account
—Validate gameplay requests and artist collaboration logic
—Remember local app settings
—Manage access to free or premium features
—Display advertising in the app
—Protect the service against abuse, misuse, and technical failures

We do not use this data to identify you personally.

We do not sell your data.

We do not build a behavioral profile about you ourselves.

We do not use your data for direct marketing.

Legal Basis

FEAT operates under the following legal bases for processing technical data:

—Performance of a contract: the limited technical processing carried out by Firebase Anonymous Authentication and gameplay logic is necessary to deliver the app and its core features to the user.
—Legitimate interests: processing related to security, abuse prevention, and service reliability is based on our legitimate interest in maintaining a functional and protected service.
—Consent: advertising-related processing via Google AdMob in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland requires valid consent under applicable law. Google's publisher policies independently require compliant consent flows in those jurisdictions.

Data Retention

FEAT aims to minimize retention.

—The interface language, subscription status, and tutorial flag stored locally on your device persist until you uninstall the app or clear its data. Player names and in-game selections are never written to disk and disappear at the end of each session.
—Anonymous Firebase-linked technical data may persist as long as necessary for app functionality or until deletion/inactivity cleanup.
—Gameplay session data is used for immediate app functionality and is not intended to form a long-term personal history.
—Advertising-related data is retained under Google's own policies.
—Infrastructure logs are retained under the applicable policies and technical settings of the hosting provider.
—We do not maintain a traditional personal user database containing your civil identity.

International Transfers

Some third-party providers used by FEAT, including Google and possibly Vercel infrastructure, may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where applicable, those transfers are governed by the legal safeguards implemented by those providers, such as contractual and regulatory transfer mechanisms described in their own privacy documentation.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect the limited technical data involved in the app's operation, including:

—HTTPS/TLS encrypted communications
—Private app storage for local data
—No cloud backup for local app data
—No analytics SDK
—No crash reporting SDK in the current version

No system can guarantee absolute security, but we aim to minimize risk and minimize the amount of data involved from the outset.

Your Rights

If applicable under the GDPR or other local laws, you may have the right to:

—Access data concerning you
—Request correction of inaccurate data
—Request deletion of data associated with your anonymous technical identifier
—Object to certain processing
—Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
—Lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority

Children's Privacy

FEAT is rated 18+ on the Google Play Store. The app is intended for adult users only and is not suitable for minors.

We do not knowingly collect directly identifying personal data from children. If you believe that data relating to a child has been processed inappropriately through the app, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect legal, technical, or product changes. If we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
